About Us
As a nonprofit education and training organization, our
mission is to anticipate and meet the training needs of our members
and customers in the fields of health care, behavioral health,
business, education, rehabilitation and justice systems.
FOCUS is a membership organization founded in 1988 by a group of behavioral healthcare Directors in Western Michigan and the Kalamazoo Regional Psychiatric Hospital. In 1991, FOCUS was incorporated as a private non-profit organization, following three successful years of collaboration and provision of annual training conferences for behavioral health staff. The need to expand the training capacity of the volunteer membership in early years led to the present corporate structure and its current missions.
